Composite shutters and made out of PVC and wood shutters are made out of wood. Composite shutters are less expensive than real wood shutters. They are also more water resistant. Composite shutters can only be painted while wood shutters can be painted and stained. Wood shutters also have more frame styles and options. Composite shutters will last longer.
