Cellular shades, often called “honeycomb” shades get their name from the cells of air that are created in between layers of fabric. They’re top performers in insulation as a result! They’re a familiar shade as many of us grew up with them in our homes. Today’s shades use the same perfect design, but with modern styles, operations, and materials.
Pleated shades have the appearance of cellular shades from the front, but there the comparison stops! They combine the advantages of a traditional shade with the modern, sleek look of crisp and even pleats. They’re available in a massive variety of colors and patterns. You can also add liners such as privacy, blackout, and thermal options for enhanced functionality.

Side channels are an option for many window coverings, including pleated shades. Small additions to the sides of your windows help block light leaks to help you get better sleep.

Top-down bottom-up cellular shades, pleated shades & other styles
If you’re not familiar with top down, bottom up shades (sometimes reversed as bottom up, top down), they’re a client favorite – with good reason! Just like the name implies, these are shades you can raise from the bottom like most shades. Unlike others, you can also lower them from the top!
